Vinyline reveals business boost

Signage specialist Applelec and Vinyline have worked together to complete the installation of signage on St Helens RLFCs’ new stadium, Langtree Park. Following the joint project between trade supplier Applelec and Vinyline to complete the installation of signage at St Helens RLFCs’ new stadium, Langtree Park, the latter has emphasised that the demand for LED lighting is helping to grow the business.

Vinyline was given a timescale of just five weeks for production and installation for the new £26m stadium. After devising the system required, Vinyline engaged Applelec to construct two large scale sets of LED illuminated lettering and five set of built-up descaled stainless steel lettering—with each letter incorporating the Langtree Park logo.

Signage features two sets of built-up rim and return letters—manufactured in aluminium by Applelec. After metal fabrication, letters were completed with foamex or built-up metal backtrays, 5mm deep opal acrylic faces and fitted with Sloan V180 LEDs to illuminate.

Vinyline then created eleven mounting panels, which were initially installed and each letter then mounted individually and wired up separately.

The latest SignLink polling data suggests that LED sign lighting technology still remains second to vehicle wrapping media in terms of the fastest growing industry supply sector, with wall and window graphics technology currently taking the final podium spot.
