Silver Bullet targets growth

Event and retail display graphics expert, Silver Bullet, is set to open a network of large-format walk-in centres as a way of expanding its service reach.

“It has always been our ambition to open a chain of print shops and take control of digital print services in-house,” comments managing director, Matthew Kingsford, adding: “We want the best of both worlds; the ability to produce some fast turnaround, high-quality signage products in-house, while still working with our partners to supply litho and screen print.”

A site in Sandy, Bedfordshire, is the first of a network of walk-in centres that the firm will be rolling out over the coming months and plans to franchise. Kingsford believes this will allow Silver Bullet to expand and improve its services: “In addition to servicing major retail clients with European-wide projects, we can now also provide a service to smaller local companies on a walk-in basis.”

The Sandy site also houses a a recently-purchased Epson SureColour SC-S30600 wide-format inkjet printer. Supplied by Epson reseller Spandex, the 64", 4-colour, roll-fed machine joined a Summa plotter and laminator at the facility.

With a maximum print speed of 294sq m/hr, Kingsford has praised the SureColour’s impact on business: “We are really impressed with the SureColour, it scores on all counts and we are already planning to buy a second.”
