Epson scores hit on high street

All-over print specialist Yr Store has selected technology from print giant Epson for a new create and print bespoke t-shirt service it is offering in partnership with well-known fashion shops, Liberty and Topman.

Yr Store has opened pop-ups within the flagship store of both companies, allowing customers to design and print their own t-shirts using Epson dye-sub printers. The garment print installation includes interactive touch-pod design stations and live all-over printing, with the service allowing customers to select their design and watch it be printed within a matter of minutes.

“Working with Epson technology means we can provide the highest quality product in super-fast time, offering customers a great retail experience and their own unique garment,” explains Yr Store’s Tim Williams.

T-shirts are printed using Epson’s 44” SureColor SC-F6000 roll-fed dye-sublimation printers, which were supplied to Yr Store by Epson re-seller RA Smart. The machines use Epson UltraChrom DS ink, a specially-developed aqueous ink that Epson says produces, ‘vibrant colours, intense blacks, sharp contours and smooth gradations’.

Martin Johns, of Epson UK’s ProGraphics, adds: “Yr Store’s live garment print installations in Liberty and Topman are a perfect example of how Epson technology is assisting users to develop their creative ideas to expand their businesses further.”

The Liberty concession remained open throughout the busy festive period until the end of December, while the Topman installation has become a permanent fixture. The service will also be rolled out to other Topshop stores this year, offering an extended line of garments such as sweatshirts, scarves and luggage.
