Arcstream AV provided a range of technologies for Pepsi Experiential Cube, which formed part of the firm’s #LIVEFORNOW campaign that ran from March 5th to 9th at Observation point London’s South Bank.
Commissioned by DesignScene, Arcstream AV supplied a videowall, interactive floor and a fog screen for the project.
The videowall was a 65” display behind frosted glass, with the display itself showing a life-sized man trapped behind a glass wall, who appeared to bang against the ice when people approach and fading back into the ice when they moved away.
An infrared beam break sensor triggered a media server run the special content when people approached, with a second sensor resetting the effect when they had left.
The client wanted to give visitors a sense of intrigue and a raft of surprises”
The interactive floor resembled a frozen lake surface and appeared to crack when people walked over it—an effect achieved via a projected and infrared camera, the latter of which tracked visitors’ movement across the surface.
Arcstream AV also installed a mirror on the adjacent wall to give the effect of a continuing ice surface.
To add the full effect, Arcstream AV also supplied a fag machine the produced a thin wall of water vapour onto which ‘#LIVEFORNOW’ was projected.
