New textile printer opens up new markets

One of the product launches at FESPA Digital was from MTEX, which unveiled equipment that is of interest to sign-makers who are diversifying into textile printing.

The new wide-format sector has allowed the industry to take on work that expands the possibilities and none more so than MTEX’s suite of kit.

MTEX has developed a range of pre- and post- fabric treatment machines aimed at those in the soft signage, interiors or fashion market. The machines include the MTEX Pad designed to pre-treat and coat materials allowing users to coat their own media prior to printing.

It has four washing tanks and a water treatment and a re-use system installed as well as a dual drying system via vacuum and cylinders

They also launched the MTEX 5032 PRO— a second-generation version of the MTEX 5032 3.2m wide textile printer. And finally the MTEX W&D is a new washer and dryer unit has been developed to emulate traditional methods of finishing fabrics. It has four washing tanks and a water treatment and a re-use system installed as well as a dual drying system via vacuum and cylinders.

The equipment was showcased at the show in Munich and according to MTEX proved a hit.
