The International Shopfitting Organisation (ISO) was founded in 1958 to establish a base to make contacts between shopfitting firms across the world. Now however it is handing over the reins to the Shop and Display Equipment Association (SDEA), which will take over on January 1st 2015 and relocate it to the UK for the first time in 70 years.
SDEA has 65 years’ experience as a supportive pillar in the retail industry, including providing the Retail Display directory, an online database, and telephone helpline to its members.
The incorporation of ISO under the umbrella of the SDEA will add a new dimension to our offer to retail groups, many of which are expanding into mainland Europe”
ISO’s current secretary general, Preben Bailey, retiring after ten years, says: “We are happy that such a professional association of our industry is promising our former members not only similar, but in many ways obviously better terms of international membership.”
SDEA Director, Lawrence Cutler, says: “The incorporation of ISO under the umbrella of the SDEA will add a new dimension to our offer to retail groups, many of which are expanding into mainland Europe. For existing SDEA members and incoming ISO members there will be invaluable opportunities to develop additional cross-border trade links.”
