The SDEA’s annual Connections event brings together buyers and sellers in this sector of the industry
Staged in central London, the annual event brought together specialist shopfittings and display manufacturers and suppliers in an effort to encourage business in this sector of the industry.
Speaking about the event, Lawrence Cutler, director of the SDEA, says gatherings like Connections can help give business a boost and are an “important” place in the marketing mix.
“It’s difficult to believe we have been running these ‘one to one’ meet the buyer events for ten years now,” Cutler says.
“I’ve lost count of how many hundreds of thousands of pounds in new business they have generated for our members, but it’s clear these events have an important place in the marketing mix.”

Melissa Hay, managing director of design agency 2 Breathe Creative, was one of those in attendance and spoke very highly of the event.
Hay said: “We loved being a part of the Connections event organised by the SDEA.
“As a busy small design agency, we have little time to constantly source new suppliers and materials, and we have to fend off many sales calls to the office due to time constraints, but this event elevates this.
“Having suppliers present to you in an efficient and concise manner, gives you enough time to assess their capabilities and meet face to face.”
