Star speakers for manufacturers' conference
The British manufacturers' organisation the EEF is asking the question how can Britain double its exports by 2020 and bring manufacturing home, at its conference in March.

Cool head: BBC broadcaster Emily Maitlis will chair the conference
Formerly the Engineering Employers' Federation, the EEF works with manufacturing, engineering, and technology-based businesses, and is the largest sectoral employers' organisation in the UK, with many sign-makers and manufacturers as members.
The conference entitled Make It Britain has lined up the A-team to put fire into the bellies (to put it succinctly) of those who make things. The sign-making industry is going through profound changes with new technologies being embraced from vehicle wrapping to LEDs, and digital signage and wide-format printing.
Keynote speakers at the conference include business secretary Vince Cable and the chief executive of GKN, Nigel Stein. They will be joined by some of the UK's most successful manufacturing exporters, including: Angus Thirwell of Hotel Chocolat; Tony Caldeira of the Caldeira Group, and Sarah Brown of PAI Skincare.

Panellists will also include Chris Sullivan of RBS Corporate Banking Division, and Crispin Simon from UKTI, who will outline the help that's available from the government to break into overseas markets and bring manufacturing jobs back to Britain?known as reshoring. Shadow Business Secretary Chuka Umunna MP will be guest speaker at the conference dinner, together with political commentator and broadcaster Matthew Paris.

The study will examine the growing trend for companies to bring production back to the UK, the drivers behind it, and the contribution this can make to our economy and the sign-industry.
British manufaturers will be checking in for the conference at the QE2 Centre, Westminster, on Tuesday, March 4th, 2014.
