The industry had changed radically since 2007 when members of the general public began to queue up to withdraw their savings from Northern Rock heralding dramatic problems in the banking industry.

Sign-makers: now is the new normal
Every month sign-makers hit the buffers and go out of business due to the after-shock of the five year long recession.
But business for the rest is on the up, unemployment is down and according to the Government the economy has recovered to 2008 levels. However there are some alarming outcomes of the recent slump including the levels of youth unemployment which remain at more than 800,000—the best part of a million people aged 16-24.

This is the new normal says Marcus Timson of the industrial print exhibition Inprint. He says the industry has changed dramatically since 2008 and will continue to evolve rapidly over the next decade.
