The 3.2m wide device features in-built fixation and has been manufactured in Portugal by specialist textile printer manufacturer, POD Iberia.

“When you have several customers asking for a particular kind of print, like dye-sub for example, we have to listen,” explains Hollywood’s sales director, Simon McKenzie.

“The demand certainly seems to have increased in the past six months, so we found ourselves on a mission to find the best direct-to-textile printer to meet these needs.

“The MTEX 5032, launched at FESPA London this year, ticked all the boxes for us.”

The new device, which features 4 Epson DX5 printheads, is capable of printing at up to speed of 58sq m/h on materials up to 3,200mm in width and at a quality of 1440 dpi.

Hollywood Monster confirms it will begin using the machine to print onto backlit, display textile and black-out polyester-based textiles.

Short bespoke work as well exhibition and retail displays will also be created on the new device.

The new MTEX 5032 has already been hard at work with a project for the Birmingham Rep theatre, one of the first jobs to be produced on the machine.

The graphic, created for a production called Tartuffle, is a 30m x 9m back wall that took seven hours to print and five hours to sew together.

The firm also produced approximately 400sq m of digital wallpaper on the set.
