Roland DG has extended its range of VersaUV of UV-LED flatbed inkjet printers with the launch of the LEF-300, in a move that will create further competition in the market

The LEF-300 boasts a printing area of 770mm wide by 330mm long

Equipped with the new Roland VersaWorks Dual RIP software, the LEF-300 has an enlarged printing area of 770mm wide by 330mm long—50 percent larger than the previous model.

The new LEF-300 can also accommodate items up to 100mm in height and 8kg in weight, while four printheads and two UV-LED lamps allow for bi-directional printing.

Jerry Davies, president of Roland DG EMEA comments: “The trend for highly personalised items is growing and customers are using Roland’s VersaUV LEF printers to build profitable businesses by providing on-demand custom printing services for a range of personalised products through e-commerce sites and retail kiosks or as an addition to their existing print shops.

The launch of the LEF-300 model brings the VersaUV series into the mass production environment with a number of features to facilitate the customisation and decoration of items in high volume

“The launch of the LEF-300 model brings the VersaUV series into the mass production environment with a number of features to facilitate the customisation and decoration of items in high volumes.”

The LEF-300 uses Roland’s ECO-UV ink in CMYK, white and clear (gloss), while all moving parts of the VersaUV LEF-300 are also fully encased.

The launch will create additional competition in what is a crowded sector of the market, which also features solutions from Mimaki, Mutoh and Resolute DTG.
